UT Cricket Association, Chandigarh & Punjab Cricket Association Seniors women team reached the finals of the 7th Rama Atray Memorial Women’s Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament, being held at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, Chandigarh. Chandigarh women’s teams and give his blessings to both teams.
Aradhana Bisht of the UT Cricket Association was awarded the Player of the Match award. Present on the occasion were former IAS and Convener Mr. Vivek Atray , Principal of DAV School, Chandigarh, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Cardiologist Dr.H.K.. Bali, Captain Sushil Kapoor, former Chief Manager of the Chandigarh Administration, Nayab Singh, Gautam Sharma, Amarjeet Kumar, and Daljeet Singh.
In today’s first match, the UT Cricket Association, Chandigarh defeated the Goa Cricket Association by a huge margin of 67 runs and entered the final. Aradhana Bisht scored a brilliant unbeaten 75 off 45 balls and was declared Player of the Match. Batting first, the UT Cricket Association scored 166 for 7 in 20 overs. Aradhana Bisht top-scored with an unbeaten 75. Indian cricketer Tania Bhatia made a quickfire 30, Parushi Prabhakar made 22, and Monica Pandey made 14. On the bowling front, Goa Cricket Association bowlers Tanaya Naik, Purva Bhaidaka, and Sunanda Yetrekar took two wickets each. Chasing a target of 166, Goa Cricket Association was bowled out for just 104 in 18.3 overs, losing the match by 62 runs. Bowling side: UT Cricket Association, Chandigarh bowlers Kumari Sibbi, Rajni Devi, Aradhana Bisht, Jyoti Kumari, and Purvi Singh took two wickets each.
In the second match of the day, the Punjab Cricket Association Seniors Women’s team defeated the Punjab Cricket Association Juniors by 50 runs and entered the final. Simran Jeet Kaur of Punjab Seniors was named Player of the Match. Batting first, Punjab Cricket Association Seniors scored 177 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Simranjit Kaur scored a brilliant 97 runs in 62 balls, which included five sixes and ten fours. Prashanti Sharma and Pragati Singh both scored 21 runs each while Srishti Rajput scored 19 runs.
On the bowling side, Punjab Cricket Association Juniors bowlers Amanjot Sandhu, Tess and Harmanjot Kaur took 1 wicket each. In reply, chasing the target of 177 runs but Punjab Cricket Association Juniors team scored 157 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 20 runs. Manya Sharma scored 64 runs, Khushwal Kaur scored 42 runs, Akanksha Saini scored 25 runs, and Aishmin Kaur scored 15 runs. On the bowling front, Punjab junior women’s bowler Annu Malhan took two wickets, while Priya Kumari, Mannat Kashyap, and Priyanka Mutreja each took one wicket.
