INITIATIVE OF CHANDIGARH PRESS CLUB AND SPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA

Face2News/Chandigarh:

More than 100 participants, including members of the Chandigarh Press Club and their families, took part in the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ event organized under the Fit India Movement. Officials from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) also joined the morning cycling initiative on Sunday.

The event was jointly organized by the Sports Authority of India’s Northern Centre and the Chandigarh Press Club.

The cycling ride commenced from the Chandigarh Press Club in Sector 27, with participants enjoying a leisurely ride through the inner lanes of the sector.

The ride was flagged off by Chandigarh Press Club Manager Narinder Sharma, while SAI Deputy Director Lalit Lohani was also present at the event.

The initiative is part of SAI’s nationwide campaign — ‘Fitness ka dose, aadha ghanta roz’ — aimed at encouraging citizens to incorporate at least 30 minutes of physical activity into their daily routine.

Participants ranged from as young as five to senior citizens aged 75, reflecting the event's inclusive spirit. The ride concluded with a breakfast gathering at the Press Club premises.
