Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini held a roundtable meeting with representatives of Swedish companies and invited them to invest in Haryana. Cabinet Minister Sh. Vipul Goel was also present at the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that joint efforts under the Make in India and Made with Sweden initiatives would be further strengthened. He said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s visit to Sweden in May 2026 had given a new dimension to the strategic partnership between the two countries. The joint five-year action plan has provided a clear roadmap for cooperation, with both countries setting a target of doubling economic exchanges, including trade and investment, over the next five years. India is Sweden’s third-largest trading partner in Asia.
Highlighting Haryana’s investment potential, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that its skilled workforce, strong industrial base and excellent connectivity to major markets across the country make it a preferred investment destination. Haryana also serves as an important gateway to the major markets of northern India. He said that the state government had further strengthened the Invest Haryana Single Window System, making the investment process simpler and faster.
Citing existing Swedish investments in Haryana as examples of investor confidence, the Chief Minister said that Swedish company IKEA’s Rs 3,500-crore integrated project in Gurugram reflected its confidence in the state. Swedish company Saab is establishing a Carl-Gustaf manufacturing facility at MET City in Jhajjar. The manufacturing unit of Swedish-Swiss group ABB in Faridabad, which began operations in 1951, is a major production centre for modern electric motors. He also noted that Swedish educational institution Kunskapsskolan opened its first school in India in Gurugram in 2013.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana was fully prepared to engage in discussions with any Swedish company considering entering the Indian market. He invited Swedish companies to participate in the Haryana Global Investor Summit 2027 and further strengthen their cooperation with the state.
