Raj Sadosh/Abohar.
Acting on a tip-off, the District Drug Inspector, accompanied by a police team, conducted a raid at a ‘Dharamshala’ (guesthouse) attached to a prominent temple in Abohar. During the operation, a large quantity of medicines—stored without any “valid license” or accompanying bills—was discovered. Both the police and the Drug Department were conducting a rigorous investigation into the matter till today evening.
According to Drug Inspector Harita Bansal, she had received confidential information that an individual from Abohar had been “illegally storing” medicines inside a Dharamshala, located on Sahitya Sadan Road, for the past few months. Acting on this intelligence, she reached the site with her team and officers from the Abohar City-1 police station. Upon opening a room within the Dharamshala, a substantial stock of medicines was found. The items had been stored without a license by a local resident—an act that is entirely unlawful.
The Drug Inspector stated that the entire stock of medicines has been seized. Further investigation is underway, and appropriate legal action will be taken against the individual in accordance with departmental regulations.
