TWO DECADES IN DRUG TRADE, NOW HABTIUAL LADY DRUG PEDDLER BALA TO LODGE IN DIBRU JAIL IN ASSAM

In a major breakthrough for the first time in Chandigarh, Police Station-ANTF of Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against Drug Suppliers. As per direction of SP Sh. Jasbir Singh, under the guidance of DSP Crime, Sh. Dhiraj Kumar and under the supervision of Insp. Baldev Kumar successfullyobtained the detention order from the competent authority of Balainvolved in drug peddling.

PITNDPS envisages preventive detention of accused persons, convicted in multiple NDPS cases. These habitual offenders have become a cancer to society and their detention will be a milestone in realizing the dream of a drug free Chandigarh. The detenu will be lodged in Dibrugarh Central Jail, Assam. This is done to break the local network linkages by lodging them far away from Chandigarh. Adopting a comprehensive approach of opening all fronts simultaneously in the fight against drug menace, financial investigation and seizure of property, preventive detention under PITNDPS, deciphering forward and backward linkages and adopting top to bottom and bottom to top strategy are firm steps of Chandigarh Police in making a drug free society..

Bala W/o Sh. Gurdev R/o H.No. 606, Sector-38A, UT, Chandigarh age 60 year is habitual offender of many NDPS Act cases and still indulging in selling of drugs from his house No. 606, Sector-38A, UT, Chandigarh. She is using small children and other neighbouring persons to supply the substance in small quantity to addicts for pecuniary gains and doing all these activities clandestinely.

She is supplying the substance only from inside the house and not coming out with substance. Total 36 cases, (including 10 cases of NDPS Act. 15 cases of burglary, 08 cases of Theft, 01 case of Culpable Homicide, Rioting & Misc. IPC each) have been registered against her. Apart from this, 03 preventive Action u/s 110 Cr.P.C.have also been initiated against her.

The detail of NDPS Act cases AGAINST  Bala. IR No. 177 dated 05.06.2006. FIR No 279 dated 04.08.2007, FIR No. 493 dated 01.09.2008 FIR No. 536 dated 22.11.12, IR No. 211 dated 03.05.13, FIR No. 333 dated 26.06.13. FIR No. 370 dated 25.11.2020. IR No. 18 dated 27.1.19. FIR No. 14 dated 24.10.2024, FIR No. 11 dated 18.01.2025 Convicted 06.07.2014Six month imprisonment and Rs. 1000/- fine. Fine paid.(In FIR No. 493/08). Convicted 03.12.2014R/I 1 years and Rs. 5000/- ( In FIR No. 536/12). Convicted 19.05.15R/I 10 years and Rs. 1 Lakh fine,  In FIR No. 333/13)

Keeping in view of the above facts and circumstance & poses a continued threat and health to public safety an enforcement action to disrupt her illegal cautious and clandestine methods to tackle the situation effectively. Her Proposal under PITNDPS Act 1988 was sent by the local police through Chandigarh Administration to Screening committee, Delhi for her detention, which has been approved by the competent Authority (SAFEMA), New Delhi vide No. F.No. U-11011/10/2025-PITNDPS dated 02.05.2025 Govt. of India Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue (PITNDPS Unit)and also ordered to keep her in Central Jail, Dibrugarh, Assam and she is being sent to the Central Jail, Dibrugarh, Assam
