In a historic decision aimed at providing a major relief to the people of Chandigarh, the Chandigarh Administration under the visionary leadership of the Hon'ble Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria has reduced the increased property tax for the assessment year 2025-26.

It is worth mentioning that the matter of increasing the property tax was discussed by the Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria himself with the city residents and public representatives.

Apart from this, the Administrator also seriously discussed the subject with the Mayor and former Mayors of Chandigarh. After this, this step taken by the Chandigarh Administration in the larger public interest to reduce the increased property tax is going to reduce the financial burden on the residents and businessmen across the city to a great extent.

The Chandigarh Administration is always committed to citizen welfare and will continue to explore more people-centric measures in the future. (See detail and notification)
