THE 66TH ANNUAL CONVOCATION OF PGGCG-11 HELD

The 66th Annual Convocation of Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector-11, Chandigarh, was held today. Shri Rajeev Verma, IAS, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

More than 1050 students completed their Graduation and Post-Graduation during the session 2023-24. During the occasion, more than 80 students of the college who excelled and secured positions in College as well as Panjab University examinations, were felicitated by the chief guest. 10 students who stood first in the Panjab University examinations were awarded Medals, and 19 were decorated with Roll of Honour by the Chief Guest for their outstanding achievements.

(SUBHEAD)Shri Rajeev Verma, Chief Secretary UT Chandigarh, in his address, congratulated the Graduates and Post-Graduates and encouraged them to create a future full of hope, success and positive change. He urged them to be grateful to those who have been their pillars of support during this academic journey. He remarked, “Future is not something that happens but something that we create and we create it together.” Motivating the students he said that the country needs their ideas and their energy, therefore the graduating youth have to be bold, innovative, chase excellence and uphold values.

Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal of PGGCG-11 presented the College Annual Report and outlined the illustrious achievements of the students in academics, sports and other co-curricular activities. She also underlined the contribution of faculty in research. The Principal highlighted that PGGCG-11 has won Overall Trophy for the Eleventh Consecutive Year in Panjab University Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival; College Institution Innovation Council (IIC) has been granted FOUR Star Status by MoE, Govt. of India and the college has been awarded the prestigious Best Institute (Senior Wing) for NCC Activities. Also, the college has won many awards for Environmental conservation, Sustainable development practices and cleanliness, Eat right campus, Cyber security drive and Drug De-addiction campaign at national and international level.
