On the night of March 17, One Stop Sakhi Centre, Anupgarh, found a sixteen-year-old girl in the railway station premises. The Centre presented the girl before the Child Welfare Committee and sent her to the district headquarters for shelter.

Child Welfare Committee Chairman Joginder Kaushik said that there is a dispute between the girl's parents, due to which the girl lives with her mother in Roorkee (Haridwar). The girl's stepfather scolded her as she had insisted on studying in a convent school, but the father refused. The girl left home, first came to Dabwali from Roorkee Railway Station, then sought help from someone from Dabwali and reached Anupgarh. The GRP police team spotted and handed her over to One Stop Sakhi Center Anupgarh. After counselling, the girl Sonia revealed information about her family.

The Haridwar Child Welfare Committee was contacted by Sriganganagar CWC and the girl's Social Investigation Report was sent. The concerned police station and stakeholders were requested to trace her family members.

At the time of the girl's return home, CWC Chairman Joginder Kaushik, member Anand Marwal, Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma, Child Helpline Coordinator Trilok Verma, One Stop Sakhi Center Manager Priyanka, Saroj, Nandini, Mamta and ASI from Reserve Police Line were present.
