An Army Jawan reportedly killed his wife Chandigarh Police Lady Constable Sapna posted at CID Unit of Chandigarh Police and absconding.
The body of Lady constable Sapna posted in Chandigarh Police at Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) in Panchkula was recovered from her locked car. The police was investigating the case under various aspects. The family of the deceased was informed immediately.
Now deceased Sapna's brother Gaurav has lodged a case against his brother-in-law in police station Mansa Devi under section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code. Gaurav, brother of the deceased woman, while giving a complaint to the police, told that they are 3 siblings and the eldest sister Sapna was married to a person named Parvinder in the year 2014 in village Goria police station Matanhail district Jhajjar.
(SUBHEAD)Parvinder is working as a constable in the Army and Sapna is posted as a constable in Chandigarh Police. They also have a 6-year-old daughter. There used to be a quarrel between the two and Parvinder used to harass his sister Sapna.
Parvinder had also tried to commit suicide in June 2024. Apart from them, he was a drug addict and used to demand money from his wife as well.
On 11.03.2025, Parvinder had informed Gaurav that Sapna had neither reached her duty nor her phone was reachable. The deceased's friend Urmila told that she had gone to Mansa Devi Temple Panchkula due to some trouble. When they went there, they found a car parked in the parking lot near Saketari Road in which the body of the woman was found.
Gaurav told that the car was locked, so he has full suspicion that his brother-in-law has killed Sapna and locked her car and fled with the keys.
Immediately after getting the information about the incident, police officers reached the spot. Immediately called the ambulance through dial 112. Scene of crime team was also called immediately on the spot. The doctor's team declared the woman dead. Police recovered blanket, Apple phone and other items from the spot.
