LONGOWAL GROUP OF COLLEGES HONORED WOMEN ACHIEVERS ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY

The Longowal Group of Colleges (LGC), Derabassi, marked International Women’s Day 2025 with a vibrant event centered on this year’s global theme, “Accelerate Action”, emphasizing the urgent need to advance gender equality. Students, faculty, and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate women’s contributions and advocate for a more equitable future. 

The occasion was graced by Mrs. Kanta Katyal, Chairperson of LGC, and Ms. Rajni Chadha, a renowned entrepreneur and social activist, who inspired attendees with their insights on women’s empowerment. In her opening address, Dr. Rosy Katyal, Principal of LGC, underscored the significance of the day:
“International Women’s Day is not just a celebration; it is a reminder to honor the relentless spirit of women who shape our societies. We must accelerate efforts to dismantle barriers and ensure equal opportunities for all.”

The auditorium echoed with applause as participants paid tribute to trailblazing women across fields.

Fun games infused the event with laughter and camaraderie, fostering a spirit of unity among attendees. From thought-provoking quizzes on women’s history to team-building activities, the games reinforced the theme of collective action.

 s. Rajni Chadha, during her keynote address, urged the audience to champion gender equality in everyday actions: Progress begins with small steps—supporting education, challenging stereotypes, and amplifying women’s voices. Let’s turn ‘Accelerate Action’ from a slogan into reality.”

Mrs. Kanta Katyal also emphasized the institution’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, citing LGC’s initiatives to empower female students through scholarships and leadership programs.

The event concluded on a hopeful note, with attendees reaffirming their dedication to driving gender equality. By blending celebration with reflection, LGC Derabassi not only honored women’s achievements but also ignited a renewed resolve to accelerate progress toward a fairer world.
