WESTERN COMMAND PROMOTES GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Western Command celebrated International Women's Day 2025 at Chandimandir Military Station, reaffirming its commitment to women's empowerment and gender equality. The two-day event featured a range of activities focusing on women's health, wellness, self-reliance, and career opportunities.

The celebrations commenced yesterday with an insightful discussion on women's health, wellness and nutrition, where experts shared practical advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A blood donation camp was also organized in coordination with Command Hospital, Western Command, promoting solidarity and social responsibility.

(SUBHEAD)The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) organized an in-house 'Vanita Swavalamban Mela' to showcase and promote the entrepreneurial spirit of Army women. The event featured a variety of handmade products, highlighting the creativity and ability of women to achieve economic independence.

Furthermore, the Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO) hosted a walk-in interview specifically for women, empowering them to pursue meaningful careers and contribute to the national workforce.

Mrs. Shuchi Katiyar, President Regional AWWA, Western Command, expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions made by Army women. She emphasized the importance of continued efforts by the Indian Army to empower women in all spheres of life. Through its International Women's Day celebrations, Western Command has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women's empowerment, recognizing their achievements, and promoting gender equality, She added.
