The Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration has always been endeavouring to fulfil the vision, “future ready Chandigarh vision 2030 and beyond” of Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh.
Moving forward on enhancing the infrastructure for Sports and Education, the Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration has now constructed a state-of-the-art basketball court in Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, Chandigarh with a cost of Rs. 70 Lacs on an area of 7000 Sft. (approx.). This initiative aims to promote sports and provide athletes with world-class facilities at the school level.
(SUBHEAD)The newly constructed courts feature FIBA (International Basketball Federation) approved synthetic PU flooring, ensuring top-tier quality and durability enabling an optimal playing experience for students and athletes. To enhance aesthetics and functionality, a color coat has been applied on the top Polyurea surface as per the approved shade. Finally, game marking lines have been meticulously painted in compliance with international standards.
This development will serve as a major boost for sports training and competitions, providing students with a professional playing surface that meets international standards. The newly constructed basketball court is expected to significantly contribute to the overall sports culture at the school, encouraging students to enhance their skills and excel in the game.
This initiative aligns with the commitment to fostering sports excellence among students. The new basketball courts will offer young athletes a professional playing field, helping them develop their skills and compete at higher levels. With this addition, Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, Chandigarh, continues to set a benchmark in providing modern sports facilities, reinforcing its dedication to promoting physical education and overall student development.
