PU Vice Chanceller Prof. Renu Vig said, ” We are proud that Panjab University has been ranked 710 globally, 189 in Asia, and eighth among universities in India in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025. This is the first time that PU has participated in this ranking.

Out of 1,743 leading institutions assessed, we achieved this position based on three critical parameters: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Good Governance.

(SUBHEAD)Our initiatives, such as value-added courses on sustainability and societal aspects in our curriculum, segregation of waste, and energy management efforts like biogas, tertiary water usage, and LED implementation, have significantly contributed to this recognition.

PU has been striving hard to enhance education quality, employability, research output, and international collaborations, which is consistently helping us elevate our position in global rankings. We are committed to taking it forward.”
