In response to allegations of biased treatment from the central government, Arvind Khanna, BJP State Vice President and former MLA, clarified that Punjab has received greater financial support under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) than neighboring Haryana. Mr. Khanna stated today that recent RTI data shows Punjab received Rs 1825.78 crore, while Haryana received Rs 1673 crore, disproving the Punjab government’s claims of favoritism toward their state by the Center.

(MOREPIC1)(SUBHEAD)Mr. Khanna emphasized that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is engaging in unnecessary slander against the central government to divert attention from its own shortcomings. He highlighted that, despite an opposition government in Punjab, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration has shown respect for the state by allocating substantial funds.

Mr. Khanna urged Chief Minister Mann to focus on resolving Punjab's urgent issues, such as deteriorating law and order, drug problems affecting the youth, and economic mismanagement.

Additionally, Mr. Khanna criticized the Punjab government for neglecting employee benefits, such as Diwali bonuses, and alleged that state funds are being misused on foreign visits. He called for accountability and action in Punjab’s governance.
