“There is an atmosphere of happiness around the festival of Diwali, but in the meantime, we also need to be careful to prevent our environment from getting dirty.” With this message, District Public Relations Officer and prolific writer Bhupinder Singh Brar reached government school at Bandiwala to motivate the students to celebrate Green Diwali.

He said that we should keep the environment in mind while celebrating Diwali. We should use green firecrackers so that the environment remains clean and no untoward incident can happen.

Brar said that the students should celebrate this festival through different means without spending wastefully on crackers considering their responsibility. He said that during the current paddy season, maximum awareness should be spread by the students so that the farmers do not set fire to the stubble because it pollutes the environment.

The DPRO and other guests appreciated the lamps and other artefacts prepared by the students.

Head Mistress Poonam Kaswan welcomed BS Brar and assured that efforts will be made by the children and the school to strengthen the environment.

Ram Sarup, State Awardee Sanjay Kumar, Vijaypal, Shefali Dhawan, Sourav, Gagan, Chandrakantha, Manjeet, Jyoti and Nachiketa were present.
