In Haryana, all guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, along with adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, are being strictly enforced to ensure the Assembly Elections 2024 are conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner. The Commission is fully committed to preventing any form of voter inducement, and various state agencies are keeping a close watch on the movement of illegal liquor, narcotics, and cash. Since August 16, 2024, illegal liquor, narcotics, cash, and valuable items worth Rs.10.87 crore have been seized in the state.

Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal stated that strict surveillance is being maintained not only by Haryana Police but also by other agencies as well. He said that after the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, actions have been taken by the Police, Income Tax Department, Excise and Taxation Department, and Narcotics Control Bureau.

2,04,688 litres of illegal liquor worth Rs.5.59 crore seized

Sh. Pankaj Agarwal stated that the Police have seized a cash amount of Rs.10.45 lakh. Apart from this, various agencies have seized over 2,04,688 litres of illegal liquor worth Rs. 5.59 crore. Out of this, the Police seized 1,48,994 litres of illegal liquor worth Rs. 438.42 lakh, while the Excise Department seized 55,694 litres worth Rs. 121.01 lakh.

Narcotics worth Rs. 4.02 crore seized

He further stated that a total of 12.76 kg of narcotics, valued at over Rs. 4.02 crore, have been seized by the agencies. The Police seized narcotics worth Rs. 3.72 crore, and the Narcotics Control Bureau seized substances valued at Rs. 30 lakh. The state police have also seized 9,591 other valuable items worth Rs.1.15 crore.
