Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur has announced that the Punjab Government has released an amount of Rs. 39.69 crore for the provision of free textbooks to Scheduled Caste students across the state.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is not only focusing on the welfare of other sections of society but is also making concerted efforts to ensure the education of Scheduled Caste children in the state.

The Minister further elaborated that this amount has been released under the Free Textbooks Scheme for Scheduled Caste students from Class I to Class X. She emphasized that this amount is to be utilized strictly for the intended purpose as specified in the scheme.

Dr. Baljit Kaur reiterated the Government’s commitment to the development and upliftment of students' living standards. She assured that the Government would ensure that students do not face financial barriers in their pursuit of education.
