CHANDIGARH POLICE NABS KING PIN DUPING INNOCENTS, REMANDED TO POLICE CUSTODY, FOUR ABSCONDING

On the directions of Ms.Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT under the supervision of Sh.Gurmukh Singh, DSP/Central and Inspector Sarita Roy, SHO/PS-17, team of Police Station-Sector-17, Chandigarh achieved a significant success by arresting an accused Ravinder Singh @ Ravi Saab S/o Lt. Surender Singh R/O H. No. B-21, Shiwalik Avenue, Khrar, Mohali (PB) age 26 Years.

On Wednesday, after secret information, accused Ravinder Singh Brar @ Ravi Shab, proprietor of BB Council SCO No.69, 3rd floor, Sec-17, UT Chandigarh has been arrested along with White Scorpio Car No.PB27K 2249.

During the search of Scorpio car, 01 mobile phone, 11 signed cheques of different amount of different clients have been recovered from the possession of accused Ravinder Singh Brar @ Ravi Shab in Case FIR No. 115 Dt. 30.06.2024 U/s 406,420,467,468,471,120B IPC PS 17 UT Chandigarh.

During the interrogation of accused Ravinder Singh Brar @ Ravi Shab, he disclosed that he in-connivance with his paternal uncle namely Manpreet Singh Brar opened an Immigration office under the name of “BB Council” SCO No.69, 3rd floor, Sec-17/D UT Chandigarh.

They used to run their ads through social media i.e. facebook, Instagram and allured the innocent peoples for study visa. They promise innocent people that they will send their children abroad through study visa by providing education loan.

First, they take small amount Rs.40 to 50 thousand in the name of registration & to arrange the offer letter of students. Thereafter, they prepare fake offer letter and provide the same to students/clients. They take around 60 blank cheques, CA report, registry deed of land of clients for surety of education loan.

After taking all the documents, they ask insurance fee approximately Rs. 1,85,000/- for student’s health insurance. Thereafter, they ask for GIC fee (expenditure of student in abroad) Rs.6 Lacs in their company account.

(SUBHEAD)However, BB Council Immigration Company has no license to deal in immigration. Accused persons take money from complainant in cash as well as through bank on the pretext of Processing fee, Offer Letter, Health Insurance of student and GIC but the company is not entitled to take money in personal account from students on the pretext of Offer Letter and GIC but they do not use the said money for purpose they have taken the same.

There are total 07 FIRs (approximate 46 complainants) registered at PS-17 Chd against alleged firm i.e. BB Council SCO No.69, 3rd floor, Sec-17 D UT Chandigarh and accused Ravinder Singh Brar @ Ravi Shab, Manpreet Singh Brar, Jyoti Mehra, Pushpinder Kaur & Rachna Kaushik involved in these cases.

The amounts involved in these cases are approximately Rs. 1.65 Crores. 33 fresh complaints have also been received at PS-17 Chd against alleged firm and amounts involved in these complaints are approximately Rs. 82 Lacs.

On Thursday accused Ravinder Singh Brar @ Ravi Shab produced before Hon’ble Court and obtained 02 days police remand. Now, the accused Ravinder Singh Brar @ Ravi Shab is on police remand. The continuous efforts of the team exemplify their commitment to maintaining law and order, and searches for four others accomplices are ongoing.
