SAHITYA ACADEMY'S 'GRAMALOK' PROGRAM HELD IN SIHAGANWALI

As part of Sahitya Akademi's 'Gramalok' program, aimed to spread Indian literature in villages and encourage rural talents, a Rajasthani poetry recital was organized in the Government Higher Secondary School Sihaganwali, Sriganganagar on Saturday. Dr. Arun Shaharia 'Tair' was the chief guest, Principal Vijay Sharma presided.

Gulab Rani gave the message of environmental protection in her poem and inspired the villagers and students to plant trees. Raju Goswami took a dig at politics. Mahesh Gehlot presented humorous poems and made the children laugh. Young poet Satyapal Zoya enthralled the audience with ghazal. Arun Urmesh tried to teach a lesson to the children.

(SUBHEAD)Earlier, program coordinator and member of Rajasthani Advisory Board, Krishan Kumar 'Ashu' gave information about the Gramalok program and other activities of the Academy. He also recited his Rajasthani poems. During this, students Nirmala and Sweety also recited poetry.

Dr. Arun Shaharia 'Tair' said that today's programs included children of young, teenagers, youth and the elderly besides teachers and farmers. This takes the message too far. He added a lot of color with his poetry.

Principal Vijay Sharma said that poetry is such a medium in which a lot can be said in a few words. It was heartening to see a large number of children and villagers enjoying Rajasthani poetry. Vice Principal Rajan Sharma said that we felt a sense of belonging after listening to Rajasthani poems.
