The Haryana Right to Service Commission has imposed a penalty of Rs. 1,000/- on the Commercial Assistant (CA) working in Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Ballabhgarh (Faridabad). The Commission imposed this fine due to the cancellation of the consumer's complaint without taking any action.

A spokesperson informed that the complainant, Virender Singh, had lodged a complaint regarding billing with Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Ballabhgarh (Faridabad). He reported that his electricity bill was significantly higher than usual. However, instead of resolving the complaint, the Commercial Assistant irresponsibly closed the case.

Taking serious cognizance of the matter, the Commission issued a suo-moto notice to the Commercial Assistant, SDO, and XEN of Ballabhgarh. Upon investigation, the Commission found that Commercial Assistant, Mansoor Khan has intentionally ignored the complaint and also failed to brief his senior officers, causing significant inconvenience to the consumer.

Further, the Commission directed the XEN of DHBVN Ballabhgarh to deduct Rs. 1,000 from the salary of Commercial Assistant Mansoor Khan, deposit it in the state treasury, and inform the Commission with the receipt.
