ST. JOHN’S HIGH SCHOOL AWARDS THE LOYALIST STUDENT

The Sword of Honour award ceremony was conducted in the school. This award is given to the student who has consistently shown dedication, sincerity, and loyalty toward the school and his schoolmates.

In the current academic year, RaghavBahl from class 12 was honoured with the Sword of Honour award. This award holds special significance as it was established in memory of Mr. Sanjeev Sharma by his close friend, Mr. Navpreet Singh Aujla. Mr. Sharma and Mr. Aujla are esteemed alumni of St. John's, graduating in 1982.

(SUBHEAD)Tragically, Mr. Sharma passed away during the COVID pandemic. In remembrance of his dear friend, Mr. Aujla initiated this award to preserve Mr. Sharma's legacy. Mr. Sanjeev Sharma epitomised dedication and loyalty to the school community. His unwavering commitment to St. John's was truly exceptional.

The award consists of a mounted sword and a cash award which is contributed by Mr. Aujla, an entrepreneur, and a dedicated Johnian. He along with Mr. Sanjeev Sharma’s family was present during the award ceremony. In his address to the students, he highlighted the importance of the values of sincerity and loyalty. He urged the students to preserve the legacy of their alma mater and stay true to the values instilled in them in St. John’s. Mr. Aujla pledged to continue this tradition in the years to come, ensuring that his sons also commit to this noble endeavour.

The award ceremony concluded with a heartfelt speech by the School Principal, Br. Augustine Jairaj, encouraging students to foster friendship and harmony within the school community. The assembly concluded with the students singing the school anthem with pride.
