In a major breakthrough,Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against drug Suppliers. As per direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime& HQ, under the guidance of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh, a team of Crime Branchunder the supervision of Insp. Ashok busted a drug syndicate by arresting twodrug suppliers and recovered 29.842 Kg Ganja(commercial quantity)from their possession.
Police said, on 13.4.2024police party headed by SI Neeraj Kumarwas on crime control and prevention patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Industrial Area,Chandigarh, while police party was near cremation ground Vill. Daria, Chandigarh, on suspicion one person was apprehended who disclosed his name as Anil Swain @ Chandan S/o Late Bhushan Swain R/o village Rani Khama, tehsil/PS- Mohana, Distt.-Gajapati, Odisha, Age-26 years and 20.342 KgGanja was recovered from his possession.Subsequently case FIR No. 6 Dt.13.4.2024 U/S 20 NDPS ACT, PS-ANTF, UT Chandigarh was registered against him.
(SUBHEAD)During investigation, acting upon his disclosure statement one Rahul was apprehended from Swaraj Enclave, Kharar and 9.500 kg Ganja was recovered from him and section 29 NDPS Act was added in the present case.

Rahul S/o BaberR/o #305/21, DehaBasti, Panipat, Haryana, Age-28 years, recovered 9.500 kg Ganja.
MODUS OPERANDI: Anil Swain is permanent resident of Odisha,he used to buy the Ganja at cheap prise from interior/jungle areas of Odisha, some of the area are in Naxalite areas of Odisha and sell at higher prise in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh. He used to come by train. He disclosed that there are many more young girls and boys who used to bring Ganja from there in trolley bags frequently.
The investigation of case is under progress, both accused are in police custody and police hope to crack more members of thisdrug syndicates as Anil Swain brought the Ganja in huge quantity for Rahul and Rahul further sold it in the tri-city.
