Having an Epilepsy Awareness Camp organised at GMHS 32 her by Dr Ishreen Ahuja , her team and India’s first Epilepsy patient on a Tedx platform Preeti Singh, was indeed a successful attempt to awaken patients and their caregivers about this lesser known invisible disorder.

Patients from all fields of life interacted with Ms Preeti Singh , sharing, their epilepsy stories as she motivated them never to give up.

The OPD , of about 70-80 people were gifted purple masks and rubber bands as purple is the colour of epilepsy. They were also explained the first aids of epilepsy and how to help someone suffering from epilepsy as a caregiver .

The importance of drug compliance and regular visits to a neuro physician to counter this very treatable chronic disorder was explained to them by the neurologist .

More such awareness camps need to be conducted so that people understand epilepsy and come forward for treatment going beyond stigmas.
