EXCISE DEPTT.. GRILLED ON EVADING DUTY AND VIOLATING EXCISE LAWS, ONE MORE BOTTLING PLANT LICENSE CANCELLED

Continuing its crackdown on Excise licensees found indulged in illegal inter-state smuggling of liquor and those found evading Excise duty & violating Excise laws, Excise-Taxation Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh has issued orders to cancel license of M/S Rock & Storm Bottlers Pvt. Ltd. A bottling plant till further orders.

On the basis of inputs about discrepancies in stocks of Blending VATs & finished stock, a surprise inspection was conducted by Excise staff under supervision of SDM East Nitish Singla. Inspection team during inspection, found discrepancies in stocks of blending VATs & finished goods.

Notice under Excise Act & rules was issued to the licensee who submitted his reply on hearing. Considering gravity of the issue, Excise-Taxation Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh issued orders to cancel the license and close the plant.

Excise-Taxation Dept has been acting tough against the Excise violators to ensure that elections are conducted in free & fair manner and government's revenue is secured.
