Command & Control Centre (C&CC) State Transport Authority, Sector 18-A, Chandigarh, organized a live demonstration aimed at raising awareness among school students regarding Vehicle Location Tracking Devices and Panic Buttons installed in Public Service Vehicles registered in Chandigarh.

The event, attended by students from Stepping Stone School, Sector 38, Chandigarh, provided an insightful one-hour briefing followed by a live demonstration.

The C&CC team showcased the functionality and positioning of Panic Buttons in public service vehicles, emphasizing their use in emergency situations only.

Students were informed that pressing the Panic Buttons triggers an alert with real-time location information, which is promptly received by the Command & Control Centre (C&CC) in the State Transport Authority, as well as the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112). This ensures the swift provision of emergency aid such as medical assistance, fire response, and police support to passengers in need.

Highlighting the continuous monitoring efforts, it was reiterated that real-time tracking of public service vehicles is conducted 24/7 at the Command and Control Centre (C&CC) of the State Transport Authority, Sector 18, Chandigarh.

In addition to the demonstration, students were encouraged to spread awareness among their peers and families about the importance of Panic Buttons in Public Service Vehicles. They were reminded to utilize the Panic Buttons solely in genuine emergency situations, thereby contributing to enhanced safety measures within the transportation system.
