The Chandigarh GST department, comprising 6 teams, recently conducted raids on multiple immigration firms in Chandigarh suspected of tax evasion.

Under the leadership of Pardeep Rawal ETO, the team, directed by Jagdeep Sehgal AETC, meticulously examined GST returns, business models, past filings, portal-based data, and conducted on-site visits to gather crucial information.

The inspections yielded substantial evidence, including enrollment forms, rent agreements, pen drives, mobile phones, computers, loose documents, dairy notebooks, and registers. Notable firms targeted in this operation were Canvisa Worldwide, CV Immigration, Akal Overseas Consultancy and Future Developers, Sector 34 Chandigarh.(SUBHEAD)

This effort follows the previous week's inspection of M/s. Dhagey Creations, Sector 38, Chandigarh, where it was discovered that the taxpayer was operating under the composition scheme instead of regular GST registration.

These proactive measures by the Excise and Taxation Department highlight the government's dedication to sealing GST revenue loopholes and ensuring businesses comply with tax regulations.
