In light of the elections for Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor, and Deputy Mayor of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, a meeting is scheduled for February 6, 2024. This decision follows a thorough assessment of the security and law and order situation by the Senior Superintendent of Police, UT, Chandigarh.
As per the provisions outlined in Section 38 of the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976, extended to the Union Territory, Chandigarh, and Section 60(a) read with Regulation 6(1) of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (Procedure and Conduct of Business) Regulations, 1996, the meeting for the election of Mayor will be convened by the Divisional Commissioner/Prescribed Authority.

Anil Masih, Councilor, as the Presiding Authority for this significant meeting. Sh. Anil Masih, Councilor, will preside over the meeting to elect the Mayor, adhering to the established regulations and procedures.
