HITS BACK AT HOODA’S ALLEGATIONS, SAYS CONGRESS AVOIDS DEBATE IN THE HOUSE, CONGRESS IS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT HEADLINES THAN ISSUES: ANIL VIJ
Chandigarh, June 7 –
Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, referring to his recent comment on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), said that in a democracy every individual has the right to struggle and express his or her views. In this context, he advised the office-bearers of the Cockroach Janata Party, saying, “This is a democracy—everyone has the right to struggle, but you should change your name.”
Sh. Vij had written in his post: “Cockroach is the name of a very filthy insect. Even a small child crushes it with a slipper on seeing it. Struggle if you wish—everyone has that right in a democracy—but change your name.”
Replying to a question regarding the statement made by Haryana Leader of Opposition Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda about not convening a session of the Assembly, Sh. Vij said that when Assembly sessions are held, Congress members do not participate seriously, and when government ministers or the Chief Minister begin responding, they walk out of the House.
Taking a swipe at Congress, Sh. Vij said that “The Congress party is making a mockery of democracy. They have nothing substantial to say. Their only concern is publicity. They just want their names to appear in newspapers, whether the coverage is positive or negative.”
Responding to a question regarding the arrest of Sh. Deepender Singh Hooda, Sh. Vij said that “Why would we target them? Maintaining law and order and protecting life and property is the responsibility of the agencies concerned.” He further remarked that it is because of the actions and conduct of the opposition that the people of Haryana continue to elect his party to power.
