BA STUDENT “EXPLOITED” ON PISTOL-POINT

A student pursuing BA was allegedly raped on pistol point. The case was reported against the youth who was studying in the same college. He allegedly forced her to accompany to the hotel, café, and home. It seems like he was using the pistol to intimidate her.

The City-1 police have registered a case against the youth after receiving complaints from the victim and conducted medical examinations while initiating legal proceedings based on the evidence collected.

The suspect has been identified as Sumir of Mahuana Bodla, Fazilka. The police have filed charges against relevant sections of the BNS. The victim told the police that the suspect, Sumir, studied with her at the college. For a long time, the suspect has been threatening her with death, causing her great distress.

According to the victim, the suspect intimidated her and took her to hotels, cafes, and movie theatres at different times. There, the suspect allegedly raped her on pistol-point. Once, the suspect even broke into her home and forced physical contact with her by showing off a weapon. After that, the victim was taken to a civil hospital and reported the incident to the police.

City-1 inspector, Arshdeep Kaur, has recorded the statements of the victim and has filed charges against the suspect. The victim will be brought before the court to record her statement. Police officials stated that teams of police are currently conducting searches at potential locations where the suspect may be hiding, and hope that the suspect will soon be held.
