A Message of Peace and Goodwill on India’s Independence Day has surfaced through social media today.

Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, Chairman, Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan has, on the occasion of India’s Independence Day, extended heartfelt congratulations and warmest wishes to the people of India on behalf of the people of Pakistan.

He wished “May this day strengthen the bonds of peace, friendship, tolerance and people-to-people contact between Pakistan and India. Our shared history, culture and heritage should become a bridge of understanding rather than a source of division. Let us choose peace over conflict, friendship over hatred, dialogue over confrontation, and humanity over hostility. The people of Pakistan and India deserve a future of peace, prosperity, dignity and mutual respect.”

The message concludes with the prayer saying “Long Live Pakistan-India People-to-People Friendship” and “May Peace Prevail in South Asia”.

Notably, the Foundation has been carrying a legal fight to declare that martyr Bhagat Singh was innocent and was wrongly convicted.
