Brahmavihari Swami of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha was honored with the Asmita Mahasanman Award 2026, one of Gujarat’s most prestigious recognitions celebrating individuals whose contributions have enriched society and elevated the cultural and social identity of the state. The award was presented by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, at an impressive ceremony in Ahmedabad.
Brahmavihari Swami was honored for his outstanding contributions to spirituality, humanitarian service, interfaith harmony, and the global promotion of Indian values and culture through BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. His leadership has also been instrumental in landmark projects such as the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi and various international relief and community service efforts.
Those present included Halku Bhai Patel, renowned folk singer Farida Mir, acclaimed playback singer Aishwarya Majumdar, literary figure Dr. Devdaan Bhai Patel, educationist Rangji Bhai Thakor, environmental conservationist Mohan Bhai Thummar, industrialist Mukesh Patel, Ronak Patel, Executive Editor, ABP Asmita and others.
Brahmavihari Swami dedicated the award to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Pramukh Swami Ji Maharaj, Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj, and the countless volunteers and devotees of BAPS who selflessly serve society. Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, he said that every talent, ability, and opportunity is a gift from God, and that when society honors individuals who use those gifts for the welfare of others, it is ultimately honouring God, the source of all such gifts.
