CASO DRIVE: OVER 500 HOUSES SEARCHED, 120G HEROIN, 180 INTOXICATING PILLS SEIZED, 4 HELD

Under the special CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) drive, police conducted an extensive search operation in the Kachcha Seed Farm and Pakka Seed Farm areas of Abohar. During this, 120 grams of chitta (heroin) and 180 intoxicating pills were recovered. Police arrested 4 alleged drug smugglers from the spot and cases were registered under the NDPS Act. Police are now investigating the source of the seized narcotics and other persons linked to this network.

During a week, about 500 houses were searched, a dozen cases registered, multiple accused arrested and sent to judicial custody, cops continued raids on suspected hideouts, drug-affected areas, and sensitive locations.

On Sunday, senior police officers personally reached the spot to monitor the operation. Different teams conducted foot patrols, questioned suspicious individuals, and carried out door-to-door searches. Police stated that the drive is not limited to seizures alone — the aim is also to instill fear of the law among criminals and strengthen public confidence in safety.

SSP Gagan Ajit Singh said, “No person involved in this illegal drug business will be spared at any cost, no matter how influential they may be.” All SHOs and police officers have been given clear instructions that there should be no laxity in the campaign against drug smugglers
