CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA ORGANISES TREE PLANTATION DRIVE ON 145TH FOUNDER’S DAY

Central Bank of India, Zonal Office Chandigarh, in collaboration with Chandigarh Police, organised a Tree Plantation Drive at Police Line, Sector 26, Chandigarh, under the Government’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, as part of the Bank’s 145th Founder’s Day celebrations, commemorating the birth anniversary of Shri Sorabji Pochkhanawala, Founder of Central Bank of India.

The programme was held under the leadership of Shri S.K. Singh, Zonal Head, Chandigarh, in the presence of Smt. Priyanka Bansal, Deputy Zonal Head; Shri Ram Kumar Yadav, Regional Head; Shri Rahul Singhal, AGM; and Shri Anupam Awadhwal, along with officials and staff members of Central Bank of India and Chandigarh Police.Inspectors satinder kumar (RI) police line and Sub-Inspectors satvir of Chandigarh Police were also present and actively participated in the programme.

Around 300 participants, including Bank employees, Police personnel, family members and children, enthusiastically participated in the plantation drive. A total of 145 saplings were planted, symbolising the Bank’s 145-year legacy and its commitment towards environmental conservation and a greener future.

Addressing the gathering, Shri S.K. Singh, Zonal Head, Chandigarh, highlighted the importance of planting and nurturing trees for a healthy and sustainable environment. He appreciated the Government’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative and encouraged everyone to actively contribute towards environmental protection and the well-being of future generations.

The enthusiastic participation of children, Bank employees and Chandigarh Police personnel added special significance to the programme and reinforced the message of collective responsibility towards creating a greener and cleaner environment.
The programme concluded with a collective resolve to promote sustainable environmental practices and a greener future.
