A delegation of the Chandigarh Chemists Association (CCA) met the Director General of Police (DGP), Chandigarh, today and submitted a representation regarding the recent murder of a chemist in Sector 11 and the growing safety concerns among the trading community.

The delegation urged the police administration to ensure the immediate arrest of the culprits, strengthen security measures for chemists and traders, and take effective steps to curb extortion threats and organized criminal activities targeting businesses.

The DGP gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that strong and decisive action would be taken against those responsible. The police administration also informed the delegation that a dedicated anti-gangster squad is being constituted and several measures are being implemented to enhance the security of traders and business establishments across the city.
