CHANDIGARH POLICE CONDUCTS SEARCH OPERATION IN BAPU DHAM COLONY

A Cordoning and Search Operation (CASO) was conducted on Sunday in the area of Bapu Dham Colony, Sector-26, Chandigarh falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sector-26, from 05:00 Hrs to 07:30 Hrs as per the directions of Senior Officer’s issue vide Order No 13204-220-Dated 13-06-2026,

During the operation around 70 Police officials including members of Paramilitary force were deployed. Further, the area was divided into 3 phases and dedicated teams were made to carry out thorough and effective checking/combing of each phase. Team for checking of Phase 1 was comprising of SDPO East and SHO-26 with Staff, team for phase 2 was comprising of Insp. Suresh with Staff, whereas 3rd team was comprising of I/C PP BDC with Staff.

During the operation, 3 nakas were laid at the possible entry/exit points, where around 48 vehicles were checked and 20 vehicles seized for verification were challaned.Besides this, around 120 houses were checked, during which, approximately 102 suspected persons, 15 Bad Character (BCs), 107 persons of Criminal watch list were thoroughly verified and questioned. Out of these, strangers rolls of 50 suspected persons were issued for their further verification from their areas of residence. Further, all were freeds off after verification.

The operation was conducted peacefully and systematically. Extensive verification and checking were carried out to deter criminal activities, verify suspicious persons, and strengthen public safety and security in the area.
