8 ARRESTED WITH 14 PISTOLS AND 15 LIVE CARTRIDGES, GANG LINKED TO ORGANIZED CRIME

As per the directions of Sh. Sagar Peet Hudda, IPS, W/DGP, UT Chandigarh Police, with close guidance of Sh. Pushpender Kumar, IPS, W/IGP/UT Chandigarh, Sh. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, IPS, W/DIG, UT, Chandigarh and under the supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP Operations, UT, Chandigarh, a team of operation cell consisting of Inspector Jaspal Singh, (Admin), Insp. Harinder Singh Sekhon and Insp Satvinder Singh Operations Cell was constituted under Sh. Vikas Sheokhand Dy SP Operations to take action against miscreants in the area of U.T Chandigarh to keep vigil on the anti-socialelements,wantedcriminals/gangstersetc who are procuring illegal weapons providing supports to the gangsters.
The teams lead by Jaspal Singh, (Admin), Insp. Harinder Singh Sekhon on 14.04.2026, an input was received and taking action on this secret information/input upon the secret information, a team of Operation Cell arrested two accused Rahul @ Rally S/O Suresh Kumar R/o # 709 New Indra Colony, Manimajra, Chandigarh, Monu @ KanduS/o Manohar Lal R/o # 2024 New Indra Colony, Manimajra, Chandigarh.
Rahul @ Rally was reportedly procuring illegal weapons from Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pardesh and supplying them to various gangs/ Criminals in the city to commit crime. These weapons were used in criminal activities i.e. Murder, Robbery, Ransom etc. in Tri-city. Three sophisticated semi-automatic pistols, 01 desi katta total-04 along with two live cartridges also recovered from his possession. Rahul @ Rally is a hardcore criminal and previously involved in many criminal cases in Chandigarh and other states. The detail of cases in Chandigarh and other State is as followings.

Subsequently Second person arrested by Operations Cell is Monu @ Kandu S/o Manohar Lal R/o # 2024 New Indra Colony, Manimajra, Chandigarh under Arms Act and recovered 03 sophisticated semi-automatic pistols+01 (Desi Katta) total-04 and three live catridges from his possession. Monu @ Kandu is the person who has connections with illegal weapon suppliers in U.P. & M.P. and he also supplied illegal weapons in Tri-city earlier and now he is involved in drug trafficking in Tri-city. He introduced Rahul @ Rally to the illegal weapon suppliers in U.P. & M.P.

During sustained interrogation, a significant breakthrough emerged as both arrested accused disclosed their active role in supplying illegal weapons to key associates of the Lucky Patial & Bambhia Gang operating across the Tri-city region.
During further detailed interrogation arrest of another accused and their associate Govind @ Gaurav, S/o Jeeraj Singh, R/o New Indra Colony, Manimajra.
During the course of investigation, Chandigarh Police apprehended another associate of the Bambhia Gang, identified as Govind @ Gaurav, S/o Jeeraj Singh, R/o New Indra Colony, Manimajra. His arrest let to be recovery of one more weapon i.e. one country madepistolalongwith one live cartridge was recovered from him.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused disclosed that he is a drug addict and has been involved in fights and quarrels in the past. He further revealed that he intended to establish his identity in the criminal world and gain money.
The accused also admitted that he used to brandish weapons to create fear among residents of Daria and adjoining areas. His previous involvementsare as following:

All accused persons revealed that, in active collusion, they have been procuring illegal weapons from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh through organized channels. These arms are either clandestinely concealed by them or strategically distributed, as per demand, to associates and supporters of various gangster networks operating across Chandigarh, Haryana, and Punjab, thereby facilitating and strengthening organized criminal activities in the region.
As part of special drive, a team of operation cell led by Inspector Satvinder succeeded in arresting criminals and recovered six illegal weapons and 09 live Cartridges and followed by an encounter in which one accused Mukesh@Gullu sustained injuries in his leg.
Case 1: Case FIR No.49 dated 10.04.2026 U/s 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS- 39, U.T. Chandigarh
On 10.04.2026, a team of operation cell was on patrolling and on suspicion basis apprehended one person namely Aman @ Batak S/o Sh. Ramkumar R/o # 242, Aampur, Distt-Mohali, Punjab and during his personal search one country made pistol (desi katta) along with 01 live cartridge. In this regard a case FIR No.49 U/s 10.04.2026 U/S 25/54/59 Arms was registered in PS-39, Chandigarh.
Case 2:Case FIR No.60 dated 18.04.2026 U/s 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS- Maloya, U.T. Chandigarh
On 18.04.2026, a team of operation cell was on patrolling and on suspicion basis apprehended one person namely Sanju @ Kancha S/o Sh. Ramkumar R/o # 4911 small flats, Sec-38/W, Chandigarh, age-25 yrs and during his personal search one country made pistol (desi katta) along with 01 live cartridge. In this regard a case FIR No.60/2026 U/S 25/54/59 Arms.

Case 3: FIR No.59 U/S 25/27/54/59 Arms Act, PS-11, Chandigarh
Team of operation cell got a input regarding a wanted accused of case FIR No 63/2026 U/S 25/54/59 Arms Act PS MoliJagra who is also PO in case FIR No 40 /2021 PS Maloya, would visit his sister’s house in Sector 25 in Chandigarh. Acting swiftly on this information a team chased the accused near Rally ground. During the chase the accused opened fire on police party and remained firing after warning and in retaliation he sustained a bullet injury in his right leg and was rushed to GMSH Sec 16 for treatment. In the cross firing three rounds were fired by accused Mukesh@Gullu and two bullets were fired by police party. One .32 bore pistol recovered from his position along with three cartridges. In this regard a case FIR No.59 was got registered against him U/S 25/27/54/59 Arms Act.

On the midnight of 21,22.04.2026 a team of operation cell was on patrolling and on suspicion basis apprehended two persons namely Gurdeep Singh and Mony and recovered one desi katta along with one live cartridges and one desi pistol with three live cartridges.
