The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has nominated senior journalist of Chandigarh Vinod Kohli as a member of the Press Council of India (PCI) . He has been nominated for the second term. Besides him, six more journalists — Geetarth Pathak ( Assam), Prajanand Chaudhuri (West Bengal ), Kingshuk Pramanik (West Bengal), C.K Nayak ( Delhi), Prasana Kumar Mohanti (Odisha) and Bijoy Kakchingtabamo (Manipur ) — have also been nominated as PCI members.
Earlier, Kohli remained a member of the Central Press Accreditation Committee (CPAC) of the PIB under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Kohli is the President of the Chandigarh-Punjab Union of Journalists (CPUJ) and the Secretary-General of the Indian Journalists Union .
