DBU SIGNS LANDMARK MOU WITH SWAMI RAMANAND TEERTH MARATHWADA UNIVERSITY TO ADVANCE RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND SIKH HERITAGE

In a significant step towards strengthening academic excellence and preserving India’s rich heritage, Desh Bhagat University (DBU), Punjab, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMU), Nanded, establishing a strategic partnership for collaborative research, innovation, academic exchange, and the promotion of teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Sikh Heritage.

The Desh Bhagat University delegation was led by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and comprised Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor; Dr. Harpreet Singh, Director, Research & Development SIRO cum Dean Research, Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital; and Dr. Dharminder Singh, Professor, Faculty of Liberal Arts. The collaboration was formalized in the gracious presence of Dr. Manohar Chaskar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Ashok Mahajan, Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor, whose leadership and support added great significance to the occasion.

The programme began with a warm welcome and felicitation of the DBU delegation by the SRTMU leadership, followed by a presentation on the academic and research profile of the host university by Dr. Shailesh Wadher. The DBU delegation reciprocated by felicitating the dignitaries of SRTMU.

Dr. Harpreet Singh thereafter presented the achievements and vision of Desh Bhagat University, highlighting its multidisciplinary academic ecosystem, research and innovation initiatives, SIRO recognition, intellectual property achievements, international collaborations, and commitment to translating research into societal impact. The presentation received enthusiastic appreciation from the gathering.

During the interaction Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh emphasized the need for a strong, sustainable, and result-oriented partnership between the two universities. He proposed collaboration in online Punjabi language teaching, joint national and international conferences, collaborative research projects and publications, and joint Intellectual Property development, with a shared commitment to preserving and promoting the legacy of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji through meaningful academic initiatives.

The Memorandum of Understanding was formally signed by Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh on behalf of Desh Bhagat University and Dr. D. D. Pawar, Registrar, on behalf of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership dedicated to academic excellence, research, innovation, heritage preservation, faculty and student exchange, and collaborative knowledge creation.

Speaking on the occasion, both institutions expressed confidence that this partnership would strengthen academic ties, foster impactful research, preserve invaluable heritage knowledge systems, and create new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members at both universities.
