Face2News/New Delhi

In a major breakthrough, a joint team of PS North Rohini and Special Staff, Rohini District, has arrested three alleged shooters of the Harry Boxer gang and foiled an extortion racket and a targeted killing conspiracy directed against businessmen across Delhi-NCR. Under the overall guidance of Sh. Devesh Srivastava, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Law & Order, Zone-I, and the close supervision of Sh. Vijay Singh, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range, the operation was conducted under the directions of Sh. Shashank Jaiswal, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rohini District, and was continuously monitored by Sh. Satish Kumar, IPS, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rohini District.

The field operation was led by Inspector Sandeep Godara, In-charge, Special Staff, and Inspector Amit Kumar, SHO/PS North Rohini, under the operational supervision of ACP/Operations Ajmer Singh and ACP/Rohini Sub-Division Brij Mohan Meena. The team comprised SI Sumit Dahiya, SI Prashant, SI Ashok, W/HC Anita; HCs Gokul, Babulal, Rakesh, Ravi, Jitender and Navdeep; and Cts. Anshul, Praveen and Aryaman.

BACKGROUND AND REGISTRATION OF THE CASE

On 08.03.2026, a businessman approached PS North Rohini and reported that he had been receiving repeated extortion calls and criminal threats demanding Rs. 1,00,00,000 (Rupees One Crore). Between 06.03.2026 and 08.03.2026, he received several WhatsApp calls and messages from foreign numbers. The caller identified himself as Randeep Malik, claimed association with the Harry Boxer gang, demanded the same sum of Rs. 1,00,00,000 as extortion money and threatened to kill the complainant if the demand was not met.

The complainant continued to receive threatening WhatsApp calls and messages from foreign numbers. He preserved the call recordings and screenshots, which subsequently proved crucial to the investigation.
Accordingly, FIR No. 111/2026 under Section 308(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at PS North Rohini, and the investigation was entrusted to Special Staff, Rohini District.
During the investigation, it further emerged that gang operatives were also targeting businessmen across Delhi-NCR. They were conducting reconnaissance of their residences and identifying potential victims for planned targeted killings. Similar extortion calls had allegedly been made by the same gang to several jewellers in the Karol Bagh area.

On 04.07.2026, the complainant again received a WhatsApp call, along with photographs and videos of his residence. On this occasion, the caller introduced himself as Harry Boxer and stated that reconnaissance of the complainant’s house had already been completed. The caller threatened that, if the extortion demand was not fulfilled, either the complainant or a member of his family would be murdered.

INTENSIVE INVESTIGATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF THE MODULE

Immediately after registration of the case, dedicated teams of Special Staff, Rohini District, and PS North Rohini launched an intensive investigation. When it came to light that the complainant’s residence had already been reconnoitered by the gang, the investigation was further intensified. The development showed that the conspiracy had progressed beyond mere extortion threats and that the intended targets had already been identified.

Considering the gravity and immediacy of the threat, the teams worked continuously through a combination of technical surveillance, human intelligence, CCTV analysis of the complainant’s residence and surrounding areas covering the preceding fifteen days, digital forensic examination and analysis of encrypted communications. Through sustained technical and field surveillance, the teams identified the
suspects and uncovered the conspiracy before it could be executed.

The investigation eventually zeroed in on Shiv Govind, whose suspicious movements corresponded with the technical inputs. Acting on technical surveillance and human intelligence, he was apprehended from Srinivaspuri, Delhi. Examination of his mobile phone led to the recovery of photographs and videos relating to reconnaissance of the complainant’s residence, as well as photographs of jewelry establishments in Karol Bagh.

The digital evidence indicated that these photographs and videos had been transmitted to gang handlers through the encrypted messaging application Signal. Sustained interrogation and further technical analysis led to the identification of two additional alleged gang members – Abhinav @ Akash Singh and Vivek. Raids were immediately conducted at multiple locations. Abhinav @ Akash Singh was arrested on 08.07.2026 and, pursuant to his disclosure, co-accused Vivek was also apprehended.

The accused had allegedly travelled to Delhi from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and stayed in different hotels in Delhi to conceal their movements and execute the planned crime. They were awaiting final
instructions from their gang handlers to carry out the targeted killings. During the operation, police recovered three sophisticated illegal pistols, including one 9 mm pistol and one Beretta pistol, along with 26 live cartridges and one Hero Deluxe motorcycle. The weapons had been buried underground near the Sector-11/25 drain area in Rohini in an attempt to evade police detection. The timely intervention, meticulous investigation and proactive policing by Rohini District Police
prevented a major gangland crime and ensured the safety of the targeted businessmen.

ROLE OF THE ACCUSED AND UNCOVERED CONSPIRACY

During interrogation, it was revealed that accused Abhinav @ Akash Singh had previously been involved in the sensational 2024 murder case of gym owner Nadir Shah at Greater Kailash-I. He remained in judicial custody in that case and was released from jail on 29.05.2026. Soon after his release, he allegedly re-established contact with senior members of the Harry Boxer gang through encrypted communication applications.

Acting on the directions of the gang leadership, Abhinav allegedly recruited shooters, including co-accused Vivek from his native village in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He assigned Shiv Govind the task of conducting reconnaissance of the complainant’s residence in Rohini and of targeted jewellery establishments in Karol Bagh. The photographs and videos generated during the reconnaissance were transmitted through encrypted applications to gang handlers for approval before execution of the planned crime.

The investigation further revealed that the three accused had shifted to Delhi and stayed in different hotels in Delhi as part of their preparations to execute the planned targeted killings of businessmen. The accused were also allegedly conducting reconnaissance of the residences of businessmen across Delhi-NCR and identifying potential victims for targeted killings, while awaiting final instructions from the gang leadership. The investigation conducted so far indicates that the accused had completed reconnaissance of multiple intended targets, arranged shooters, procured sophisticated illegal firearms delivered by gang associates and reached the final stage of executing the conspiracy.

RECOVERIES EFFECTED

At the instance of the accused persons, the following articles and digital evidence were recovered:

1. Three sophisticated illegal pistols: one 9 mm pistol, one Beretta pistol and one additional sophisticated pistol.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CASE

The investigation has exposed the alleged modus operandi of the Harry Boxer gang, which uses foreign-based operatives and encrypted communication platforms to issue extortion threats, while local operatives identify businessmen across Delhi-NCR, conduct reconnaissance of their residences, shortlist intended victims and procure illegal firearms for targeted killings.
The arrested accused had allegedly completed reconnaissance of intended targets across Delhi-NCR, arranged illegal weapons and assembled in Delhi. They were waiting only for final instructions from their gang handlers before carrying out the planned assassinations.
The swift, coordinated and intelligence-led action of Special Staff, Rohini District, and PS North Rohini – supported by technical surveillance, digital forensics, CCTV analysis and human intelligence – successfully
foiled a major conspiracy to assassinate businessmen across Delhi-NCR. The operation prevented a serious gangland crime, neutralized an active module of the Harry Boxer gang and ensured the safety of the intended victims.

FURTHER INVESTIGATION

Further investigation is in progress to identify and apprehend the remaining members, handlers, financiers, weapon suppliers and overseas conspirators associated with the syndicate. The roles of
Randeep Malik, Harry Boxer and Anil Pandit are being investigated further. Efforts are also underway to identify other businessmen surveyed or shortlisted across Delhi-NCR, trace the source and supply chain of the illegal firearms, encrypted communications, financial transactions and the wider conspiracy behind the planned targeted killings.
