EARTHQUAKE JOLTS PUNJAB AND CHANDIGARH

Face2News/Chandigarh

Powerful earthquake tremors were felt across the entire northern region, including Punjab and the joint capital, Chandigarh. According to initial reports, the tremors struck at approximately 10:04 PM, triggering widespread panic throughout the area.

The intensity of the earthquake was significant enough to cause household items and ceiling fans to shake violently. Fearing for their safety, residents swiftly evacuated their homes and high-rise buildings, rushing toward open spaces. Reports coming in from various cities across Chandigarh and Punjab indicate an atmosphere of chaos and anxiety immediately following the tremors.

As of now, official information regarding the epicenter of the earthquake and its exact magnitude on the Richter scale is still awaited. In a major relief, no loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far. The local administration and the meteorological department are closely monitoring the situation.
