On the occasion of World Photography Day, Tricity Photo Art Society (TPAS) is organizing its annual photo exhibition ‘Drishti-2026’. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Shri Kultar Singh Sandhwan, at 12:00 PM on August 19. This five-day photo exhibition is being organized in collaboration with the Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh, from August 19 to 23. During the exhibition, three workshops dedicated to the art of photography covering various subjects will also be held on Aug. 20, 21, and 22.

60 Photos by 24 Members on Display:

It is noteworthy that World Photography Day is celebrated globally every year on August 19. It has been 11 years since the establishment of TPAS. During this time, the organization has been conducting several special photo exhibitions, competitions, photo walks, and workshops to promote the art of photography in the region. The organization’s objective is to take photography to the people not just as a hobby but as an art form. In this exhibition, 60 photos by 24 members of the society will be displayed. Photo lovers will get an opportunity to view excellent artistic photographs on subjects like landscapes, architecture, street life, nature, wildlife, and glassware photography.

Photography Workshops:

During the photography workshops held alongside the exhibition, Vinod Chauhan will share his experiences on wildlife photography on August 20, a Canon expert will cover basics and portraiture on August 21, and Deep Bhatia will discuss glassware photography on August 22. In addition to this, companies like Godox and Futech will provide information about their products during the exhibition. The timing for all workshops will be 2:30 PM.

Seeing the growing interest in photography among the general public and students in the Tricity, TPAS has announced a special membership discount during the exhibition. Under this, any person interested in art photography can avail of an annual membership for Rs 1999, while the fee for students has been kept at Rs 999. The photo exhibition will remain open to the public free of cost from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
