KEJRIWAL JOINED HANDS WITH THOSE ACCUSED IN THE 1984 ANTI-SIKH MASSACRE, HAS NO MORAL RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT JUSTICE NOW: TARUN CHUGH

KEJRIWAL, WHO FOUGHT ELECTIONS WITH CONGRESS IN 2024, MUST EXPLAIN WHY NO SIT WAS FORMED ON 1984 CASES WHILE HE WAS IN POWER, CONGRESS DENIED JUSTICE TO 1984 VICTIMS FOR DECADES; MODI GOVERNMENT OPENED THE PATH TO JUSTICE THROUGH SIT AND LEGAL ACTION

BJP National Office In-Charge, Gujarat BJP In-Charge and Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh strongly hit back at the Aam Aadmi Party protest outside his residence in Amritsar, raising sharp questions before Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP over the 1984 anti-Sikh massacre.

Tarun Chugh said that the same Arvind Kejriwal who shared the stage with Congress leaders who faced serious allegations and cases related to the 1984 anti-Sikh violence is now attempting to lecture the BJP. He said Kejriwal must first answer why he contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Delhi together with Congress and why he entered into a political alliance with the very party whose governments have faced longstanding criticism for failing to deliver justice to the victims of the 1984 massacre.

Chugh said that after forming a government in Delhi with Congress support in 2013, why did Kejriwal fail to take decisive action in the 1984 cases? He asked what concrete steps the AAP government took while in power to pursue special investigations and legal action if the party was genuinely concerned about the victims of 1984. He said that using the pain of victims for political protests today is no justice to the families who waited for justice for decades.

The BJP leader said that the BJP has consistently fought for justice for the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh massacre and has stood firmly with every victim family. Cases in which action remained pending for years under Congress governments saw the path to further investigation and legal proceedings opened during the tenure of the Narendra Modi government through the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and other legal processes. He said the BJP has never raised the issue merely for vote-bank politics, but as a question of justice and accountability.

Tarun Chugh said that the AAP must now decide whether it stands with the victims of 1984 or is using their pain to protect its political relationship with Congress. He said AAP’s attempt to put the BJP in the dock today, while Kejriwal himself has shared political platforms with Congress leaders, exposes the party’s political double standards.

Chugh made it clear that the BJP believes in the supremacy of the law and the judicial process. He said the pursuit of justice for the victims of 1984 has progressed through courts and due legal process, and the BJP supports action in every case strictly in accordance with law rather than political pressure. He said before staging protests and making allegations, AAP and Kejriwal must answer the people about their own political history and their alliance with Congress.
