MARTYR SUKHDEV THAPAR’S 118TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED AT LAHORE

Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan organized a dignified ceremony at the Democratic Lawn of Lahore High Court Bar to celebrate the 118th birth anniversary of renowned freedom fighter and close companion of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar. The event was marked by a cake-cutting ceremony attended by lawyers and others who paid rich tribute to the revolutionary hero and his unforgettable struggle for freedom.

The ceremony was presided over by the Chairman of Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan, Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi. Distinguished guests included Mian Ghulam Ullah Khan Joiya Advocate Supreme Court, Syed Waqar Hussain Shah Jangi Central Secretary General Pakistan Democratic Party, Muhammad Waheed Qureshi Advocate, Dr. Shahid Naseer, Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Bhatti Advocate, and Mian Mohammad Tariq Amin Advocate.

The speakers highlighted the revolutionary struggle, courage, sacrifices, and patriotism of Sukhdev Thapar, stating that great revolutionaries like Sukhdev Thapar, Bhagat Singh, and Rajguru sacrificed their lives to awaken the people of the subcontinent against slavery, oppression, and injustice. They said these legendary figures taught the oppressed nations the true meaning of resistance, freedom, equality, and justice.

Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi said that Sukhdev Thapar was not merely an individual but a symbol of resistance, revolutionary thought, and unwavering courage against tyranny. He remarked that such great personalities are born after centuries and history remembers them in golden words forever. He said that youth must learn from the ideology and sacrifices of revolutionaries like Sukhdev Thapar and Bhagat Singh in order to establish justice, equality, freedom, and human dignity in society.
