Guru Nanak Global Foundation and Lamrin Tech Skills University have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the “Mind to Market” (M2M) Innovation, Prototype and Skill Development Centre in Punjab.
Sharing details about the initiative, Chairman and Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev Global University Baljit Singh said that the project would prove to be a significant step towards establishing Punjab as a leading hub in the country for semiconductor technology, advanced manufacturing, innovation and skill development.
Under this new project, a central and modern campus will be developed in Punjab with the objective of providing students, researchers, startups, small and medium enterprises, and technology professionals with advanced facilities to transform their ideas into practical prototypes and market-ready products.
He said the project would include state-of-the-art clean rooms, semiconductor processing laboratories, packaging and assembly facilities, printed circuit board (PCB) design and manufacturing labs, along with dedicated infrastructure for comprehensive technical testing and integration.
Baljit Singh further stated that, under the agreement, Lamrin Tech Skills University will provide at least five acres of land for the project, while Guru Nanak Global Foundation will oversee technical development, operational planning, international collaborations, curriculum design and industrial partnerships.
He added that through this centre, more than 250 students every year will receive specialized training in semiconductor design and manufacturing, while over 2,500 professionals will be equipped with new competencies in high-tech sectors. The initiative will also strengthen collaboration between academia and industry in fields such as semiconductors, electronics, artificial intelligence, embedded systems and advanced manufacturing.
He said, “Mind to Market is not merely an infrastructure project, but a transformative platform connecting education, industry, innovation and commercial growth. Punjab possesses the talent and industrial capability required to establish itself as a global high-tech hub.”
He further said that the initiative would create new opportunities for Punjab’s small and medium enterprises, especially in sectors related to electronics, precision engineering, electric vehicle manufacturing, smart systems and semiconductor supply chains.
The project is expected to mark a new chapter in Punjab’s industrial and technological development.
