NISA's National President Kulbhushan Sharma said that NISA's efforts bore fruit and the Union Education Ministry has formed a 9-member committee to consider the issue related to coaching to reduce students' dependence on coaching.

This committee will suggest to the government how to change the current education system so that students' dependence on coaching is reduced. In this regard, the Central Government has issued a notification. The Chairman of the Committee will be Dr. Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Department of Higher Education. The Chairman of CBSE, Joint Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, representatives of IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, NIT Trichy, NCRT, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya and one member from a private school will be in this committee.

(SUBHEAD)It may be noted that the culture of dummy seats has increased in private schools for the last several years and students believe that only by taking dummy seats in private schools and preparing in coaching can one succeed in competitive exams. Due to which most of the students are completely engaged in preparing for competitive exams in coaching, ignoring school education, due to which the all-round development of students is getting affected.

The constituted committee will keep an eye on dummy schools and after studying the dummy schools, will suggest solutions and measures to effectively control this trend of misleading advertisements. The newly constituted committee will also study the shortcomings of school education due to which students are attracted towards coaching and take their help to succeed. The committee will also give its suggestions on the innovations required to end the rote learning in education and to make education logic based, analytical and interesting so that students can develop in all aspects.

NISA President Kulbhushan Sharma said that he had raised this issue at the central level by staging a national level protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, which was successful and will have very good results in the future.
