Chetak Corps of Indian Army celebrated its 47th Raising Day at Bathinda Military Station, marking the momentous day of it's raising on 1st July 1979, under the command of Lieutenant General ML Tuli. With its motto of 'Fight Forward, Fight Aggressive', Chetak Corps since its raising has evolved, through a series of transformations, into a highly professional, battle ready and operationally effective formation.

In a solemn ceremony to commemorate the occasion, Lieutenant General Shamsher Singh Virk, General Officer Commanding, Chetak Corps, along with all ranks, laid wreaths at the 'Yodha Yaadgar' War Memorial, in revered remembrance of the bravehearts, who laid down their lives during the various battles fought by the formation while safeguarding the boundaries of the Nation.

On this occasion, the Corps Commander exhorted all ranks of the Corps to continue to perform their duties with utmost dedication and to uphold the highest traditions of the Army.

He praised all ranks for their high state of readiness, which was evident during 'Operation Sindoor' and urged them to remain operationally ready to take on future assignments with selfless resolve and courage. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ex-Servicemen and their families for their invaluable contribution, and assured that the Corps will always remain steadfast in its support to the Veer Naris, Veterans and their families.
