The Punjab Government will ensure that the culprits involved in the brutal murder of Abohar-based cloth merchant Sanjay Verma receive the harshest punishment. This was stated by Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora during an interaction with the media, after meeting the bereaved family to express his condolences.

Arora said that it is deeply concerning that gangsters lodged in jails outside Punjab are orchestrating such heinous crimes. He assured in strong words that no one involved in this incident will be spared, and exemplary punishment will be ensured to set a precedent.

He said that the police investigation is progressing in the right direction and the culprits will soon be behind bars. Responding to a question, Arora mentioned that the family had not informed the police about any prior threats. Due to their social standing, senior police officials were already in regular contact with the family.

Arora emphasized that the Punjab Police acted swiftly after the incident, launching an immediate investigation and deploying multiple teams to trace the accused. He reiterated that anti-social elements lodged in jails in other states are attempting to disturb the peace in Punjab, but the government will foil such attempts decisively.

Earlier, Arora met the deceased’s elder brother Jagat Verma and conveyed his heartfelt condolences. He assured the family that the government stands with them in this difficult time and that the culprits would be apprehended and punished at the earliest. He also affirmed that ensuring the family’s safety is the government’s responsibility.
