POLICE RECOVER 3.5 KG HEROIN, RS 2 LAKH DRUG MONEY

In yet another major success, the sleuths belonging to Punjab police have recovered 3.5 kg heroin and drug money of Rs. 2 Lakh.

While divulging details, SSP Bhupinder Singh said that on Wednesday, the police had nabbed a mother-son duo identified as Sukhdev Singh and Sarabjit Kaur, who were involved in drug peddling. “The police had recovered 2 kg heroin, one motorcycle, two pistols and 52 live rounds from them. Sarabjit’s brother Jaswinder Singh alias Liaqat has also been involved following which he was also booked along with Sukhdev and Sarabjit”, said SSP.

(SUBHEAD)“During the investigation it came to fore that Jaswinder’s elder brother Rashpal (40, resident of Basti Machhian, is also involved in drug smuggling following which a raid was conducted during which Rashpal was nabbed”, said SSP.

During the frisking, 3.5 kg heroin and drug money of 2 Lakh rs was recovered from him following which he was booked under sections 21, 61, 85 of NDPS Act at Zira Sadar police station.

“The police is still checking the forward and backward links of this case”, said SSP
