EMPLOYMENT LINKED INCENTIVE (ELI) SCHEME TO BE IMPLEMENTED FROM 1ST AUGUST

An awareness seminar was organized at LRS DAV Senior Secondary School, Abohar. Assistant Commissioner of EPF, Sumek Meena and Enforcement Officer Navneet Anand said that Prime Minister ELI has been started by the Central Government for the welfare of employees working in private institutions. He said that this scheme will be applicable for 4 years for industries and for 2 years for other employers. 

They said that EPF has a total of 7.83 crore PF account holders across the country and about 150 offices are working in this scheme. Registration of the scheme will start from August 1 and will run till July 31, 2027. The scheme will be applicable to employees getting salary up to Rs 1 lakh, the beneficiaries will be given Rs 15 thousand annually in two instalments. 

(SUBHEAD)Under this scheme, the employers of the employees working under the manufacturer category, whose salary is up to Rs 10 thousand, will be given assistance of Rs 1000 per month, Rs 2000 per month for those with salary of Rs 10001 to 20000 and Rs 3000 per month for those with salary of Rs 20001 to one lakh. They appealed to the employees and industrialists to take maximum advantage of this scheme. 

They informed that the central government has set a budget of about Rs 1 lakh crore for this scheme and it is likely to create about three and a half crore jobs.
