The Golden Arrow Division observed Kargil Vijay Diwas with solemn reverence and patriotic spirit, commemorating the courage and sacrifices of India’s armed forces during the 1999 Kargil War. The day’s proceedings began with a ceremonial wreath-laying at the historic Barki War Memorial. Major General RS Manral, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Golden Arrow Division, led the tribute, accompanied by senior officers, veterans, and troops, in a moving homage to the fallen soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.

(MOREPIC1)Complementing the formal military observance, the Division also undertook several outreach programmes to foster greater public awareness and community engagement. As part of this effort, Army personnel visited Kargil War veterans, offering words of gratitude and reaffirming the enduring ties between serving soldiers and their predecessors. Schools across Ferozepur hosted educational sessions where stories of gallantry and sacrifice were shared with students, instilling in them a deeper sense of national pride and responsibility.

A colourful Pipe Band Display was held at Serenity Park, showcasing the precision, discipline, and ceremonial flair of the Indian Army. The festivities continued with a spirited motorcycle rally, flagged off by the General Officer Commanding, which made its way from Ferozepur Cantonment to the revered Hussainiwala Martyr’s Memorial. The rally stood as a powerful symbol of remembrance and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for India’s sovereignty.

The observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas not only honoured the bravehearts of the past but also reaffirmed the Golden Arrow Division’s steadfast commitment to patriotic values and its strong connection with the community it serves.
